I bought this in 1987 from a guy in Weymouth, MA who used it to dive for lobsters. It had a '73 MERC 500 manual start. It was in rough shape. It had pine planks for seats, no windshield moulding, very leaky laps, some rot in the upper stem. But it wasn't hogged, had no twist, and the transom was, and still is, solid. I replaced the decking and seats with new wood, rebuild the windshield, sealed the laps (or tried!), got new windshield moulding from Lyman in Sandusky, refinished the hull and bottom and varnished. It has served us well as a family picnic, ski, and fishing boat in fresh and salt water for 33 years. I repowered in 1992 with a 90 hp Evinrude when the Merc 500 died. It has probably traveled over 50,000 miles on the trailer from Philly (where we used to live) for summer vacations in MA and ME and Delaware Bay fishing trips.   Almost sank once 5 miles out in Delaware Bay when the old Wilcox-Crittendon flush toilet hose connection let go under the front seat. Had 4" of water above floor before I figured out where the water was getting in just as I was reaching for the marine radio button ready to call in a Mayday. Put a new keel on it in 2004 and had Chris Cushman and crew at Androscoggin Wooden Boat Works replace the bottom planking and ribs in 2017 and it's now in like-new condition...ready for another 60 years!!
